ACO Activities at HIVR4P 2016October 17-21, 2016 

The ACO was pleased to facilitate a satellite session at the HIV Research for Prevention (HIVR4P Conference) in Chicago, Illinois, October 17-21, 2016. A satellite on Beyond Viral Neutralization and an invitation-only Canadian Networking Breakfast were held on October 21 and October 18, respectively.   


IAS Satellite Session, July 20, 2015 

Mucosal immunology of the reproductive tract is a critical area of investigation for HIV vaccines, and this satellite aims to highlight the contribution of three of Canada’s leading teams working in this area. Presenters include Charles Wira (Dartmouth Medical School), Rupert Kaul (University of Toronto), Charu Kaushic (McMaster University), and Adam Burgener (National HIV and Retrovirology Laboratories/University of Manitoba). 


ACO Annual CHVI R&D Alliance Meeting 2015, April 30, 2015

The ACO worked with all CHVI partners to plan for our 2015 ACO Annual CHVI R&D Alliance Meeting, which was held in Toronto on April 30, 2015 in tandem with the CAHR Conference. The theme for this year’s Annual Meeting was “HIV Vaccine Networks: Collaborations, Partnerships and Outcomes across Sectors and Borders”. 


Regulatory Capacity Building Workshop: Vaccine Clinical Trial Review from Ebola to HIV

This workshop was held in Kigali, Rwanda from March 18 to 20, 2015. It brought together regulators and agencies engaged in regulatory capacity building to assist the enhancement of review capacity for HIV clinical trials and other urgent public health challenges in Africa.


Afri-Can Forum 2

The 2nd synchronicity forum (Afri-Can Forum-2) of Canadian and African prevention and vaccine teams funded through the Canadian HIV Vaccine Initiative (CHVI) was held in Johannesburg, South Africa Feb. 16-18, 2015.


Satellite Sessions at HIV R4P 2014

The ACO was pleased to help facilitate two satellite sessions at the HIV Research for Prevention (HIV R4P Conference) in Cape Town, South Africa, Oct. 28-31, 2014. A satellite session “Defining the correlates of protection in HIV-exposed seronegative (HESN) individuals” and a session on “Addressing Regulatory Challenges Associated with HIV Vaccine and other Prevention Trials” were held on Monday, Oct. 27, 2014.
 

ACO Annual CHVI R&D Research Alliance Meeting 2014, May 1, 2014

The Canadian HIV Vaccine Initiative (CHVI) Research & Development Alliance Coordinating Office (ACO) Annual Meeting was held in tandem with the 23rd Annual Canadian Conference on HIV/AIDS Research (CAHR 2014). More than 60 people attended the event, which focussed on developing innovative solutions for identified barriers to HIV vaccine development. 


ACO Activities at AIDS Vaccine 2013, Oct. 7 - 10, 2013

The Canadian HIV Vaccine Initiative (CHVI) Research and Development Alliance Coordinating Office (ACO) hosted and facilitated three collaborative sessions in Barcelona during the AIDS Vaccine 2013 conference including a satellite session on "Supporting HIV Vaccine Research and Development using the Canadian HIV Vaccine Initiative R&D Virtual Community Web Platform".

Afri-Can Forum 2013 (Entebbe, Uganda) January 17 -19, 2013
The Alliance Coordinating Office (ACO) of the Canadian HIV Vaccine Initiative (CHVI) partnered with the Canada – Africa Prevention Trials (CAPT) Network and participated in the planning of the Afri-Can Forum held in January in Entebbe, Uganda.
